Chapter 342 On the Edge
"Nathaniel! Are you even human?" Frey shouted, her voice breaking. "That woman murdered your son! Do you understand? Your son!"
Tears streamed down Frey's face, carried by the cold wind of the Alps, her eyes red with anguish. "She holds your son's flesh in her hands. Please, be human!"
Her gaze lingered on him, filled with disappointment, before she turned and walked down the stairs on the side of the rooftop.
"What's happening?" Hudson and the others hurried over, sensing something amiss, only to find Nathaniel standing like a statue, stunned by Frey's slap.
"Mr. Nathaniel..." Koen's voice trembled with fear.
Peyton shot Nathaniel a fierce look before chasing after Frey down the stairs.
Finally snapping out of his stupor, Nathaniel realized the extent of the harm he had caused Frey.
He knew that Frey would not forgive him in a short period, overshadowed by endless speculation and anger.
He rushed after her, staggering as he grabbed Peyton's bicycle.
Nathaniel pedaled furiously, following the path they often took in the evenings to view the mountain scenery.
Cars couldn't traverse the narrow trails, leaving bicycles as the only option.
As darkness fell, Nathaniel found Frey at the mountaintop, standing precariously close to the cliff's edge. His heart pounded wildly, nearly leaping out of his chest.
"Frey!" Nathaniel roared, halting about 16 or 20 feet, his hair standing on end.
Frey stood with her back to the breathtaking canyon, the lake district spread out below like a fairyland. Her skirt fluttered dangerously in the wind, and she smiled coldly at Nathaniel.
"Frey, please come here," he
pleaded, his voice breaking. "It was Abigail who called, but I will never help her again. I didn't help her. Frey, I didn't betray you. Please, believe me" noveldrama
Nathaniel's voice was humble, almost begging.
"I know I was wrong. Hatred blinded me, but Frey...
"In the past three years, my life has been a torment. I used alcohol to numb myself, tried leaving Saeville, returning to Cianwood, even went to Tudania to seek solace in unclean things, all to forget you!"
"But I couldn't leave because you were in Saeville."
"I couldn't see clearly, blinded by my hatred and regret."
"It wasn't until you were released from prison that I realized the gravity of my actions. I couldn't survive the calamity you brought into my life!" "Frey, I planned to propose to you in a few days, but now..."
Nathaniel pulled a velvet box from his pocket and knelt in front of Frey. Inside was the Eternal Diamond, a myth in the jewelry world, the purest diamond gleaming under the sunset.
"Frey, will you marry me?"
Peyton and the others arrived just in time to see Nathaniel on his knee, proposing.
Nathaniel had been preparing for this proposal for days, like a nervous teenager in love for the first time.
He had anxiously sought advice from his friends on how to create the perfect proposal.
Unfortunately, he asked the wrong

people. Koen and the others were either playboys with countless lovers or they had been single no experience in serious relationships, leaving them ill-equipped to offer meaningful advice.
Just as Nathaniel was about to hire a professional planner to come to Stanna, he found himself hastily kneeling and proposing, his heart laid bare.
What do you think?
